9-year-old Matviy Brus Becomes Viral Sensation, Supports Ukrainian Forces
In a surprising turn of events, 9-year-old Matviy Brus has captured the hearts of Ukrainians by becoming an online sensation, thanks to his rendition of the viral hit "Easter Is Coming Soon". But it isn’t just his music that’s creating waves; Matviy is using his newfound fame to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces in their fight for the nation’s independence.
The Rise of a Young Star
Matviy's unexpected rise to fame has been meteoric. His father, Volodymyr Brus, a YouTuber himself, teamed up with fellow blogger Oleksiy Vasylchenko from Cherkasy to create a powerful partnership aimed at bolstering support for Ukraine's defenders. Together, they conduct live streams to raise funds, with Matviy playing an active role.
"For my songs, they (viewers) donate money. They like it. And then this money is spent on FPV drones and cars, " Matviy shared, capturing the essence of his volunteer work.
Turning Popularity into Support
During these live sessions, participants can win valuable items, from lawnmowers to tools or handmade goods, for a modest donation. Notably, the highest amount raised in a single broadcast reached a staggering 640, 000 hryvnias. This venture has already resulted in the delivery of over 900 drones to Ukrainian soldiers, and there’s no sign of them stopping.
A Voice Beyond His Years
Matviy is not just a young celebrity; he’s a voice of awareness in his community. He recently addressed his fans with a message that belied his age’s innocence:
"You know what I’ll say, you might not get to Easter if you don't donate for drones, " proclaimed the internet star, showcasing his understanding of the cause.
Despite his young age, Matviy remains grounded, devoid of any "celebrity syndrome". His passion for participating in videos with his father is undeniable, often stealing the show with a song or poem. If he’s absent from a video, the audience’s immediate question is, "Where’s Matviy?"
The Brus family, while not making a penny from the viral video itself—due to TikTok's monetization policies—continues to support military initiatives through their YouTube channel with 290, 000 subscribers.
