Alyosha Reveals the Cost of Eurovision 2010 Participation

Ukrainian singer Alyosha, now known as Olenna Topolia, has shed light on the financial demands of her participation in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. In a recent interview, she provided insights into the expenses and the aftermath of her journey to Oslo, Norway.

The Cost of Competing in Eurovision

Reflecting on her experience, Alyosha revealed that her trip to Norway for Eurovision 2010 came with a hefty price tag.

"Overall, this trip amounted to over 400 thousand dollars because it was Norway, Oslo, and there were many directions created for our performance. It took a lot of money, " she shared.

Despite the significant expenditure, Alyosha emphasized the invaluable support she received upon her return to Ukraine.

A Humble Welcome Home

Upon her return from the grand event, Alyosha was greeted with a modest yet heartfelt gift.

"When I returned from Eurovision, I received a picture from a Ukrainian artist, printed on a printer, and a handshake..." she reminisced.

This gesture, while simple, highlighted the contrasting realities of the high-cost performance and the humble appreciation from her homeland.

Financial Support and Forgiveness

Alyosha also touched upon the financial support she received for her Eurovision journey. Despite the substantial loan she took, she was relieved from repaying a significant portion of it.

"I am not lying... If I were to say otherwise, it would be disrespectful... I speak the truth, honestly and sincerely as it was. Many things were forgiven... It was a large company of very noble people, " she noted.

Eurovision 2010 Performance

In 2010, the Eurovision Song Contest was held in Oslo, Norway. Alyosha represented Ukraine with the song "Sweet People", performing 17th on the night and securing a commendable tenth place finish. Her performance remains a memorable moment in Eurovision history.
