In a world where finance often takes center stage, the revelations of Ukrainian singer and composer Anatoliy Matviychuk offer a refreshing perspective on life beyond numbers. Anatoliy Matviychuk, a renowned artist now residing in the United States, recently shared insights into his pension and the realities of life abroad.

Matviychuk's Modest Pension: A Glimpse into the Artist's Life

In an exclusive discussion, 66-year-old Anatoliy Matviychuk, a celebrated People's Artist of Ukraine, disclosed the modest nature of his pension. He stated that his monthly pension is slightly less than that of fellow artist Pavlo Zibrov, whose pension recently increased to 8400 UAH. Despite the limited financial support, Matviychuk embraces his simple lifestyle, reflecting on the humble beginnings of his childhood.

"My pension is a bit less than Pavlo Zibrov's. Of course, today this isn't much money. But personally, I'm an ascetic because my childhood was very poor, " shared the artist.

The High Cost of Living in America: The Reality Check

Living in the United States, Matviychuk experiences the stark contrast in living expenses. Housing costs alone range from 2, 000 to 3, 000 dollars per month, a figure he emphasizes as daunting for many young immigrants. The need to share accommodations among multiple people is common, driven by the financial pressure of maintaining a decent standard of living.

The challenges extend beyond housing. Matviychuk highlights the expenses of health insurance, professional licensing, and car insurance, noting that occasional concerts or festival performances barely cover the monthly outlay. The artist dismisses the myth that performers can easily amass wealth in the U.S. to support causes back home.

"Random concerts or festival performances can't solve problems – they can't cover the level of monthly expenses. So, the stories about artists in the USA making big money from concerts and helping Ukraine are a myth. But, as a character from my 'Polustank of Love' said, 'happiness is not in money, '" Matviychuk added.

In a world transfixed by wealth and opulence, Matviychuk’s thoughts offer a poignant reminder that true contentment transcends financial constraints. His journey as an artist, bridging cultures while addressing economic realities, inspires contemplation on what truly matters in life.
