The famous Ukrainian designer Andre Tan surprises the fashion community again, presenting wardrobe elements that have returned from the era of the 2000s. And although the Y2K style can hardly be called retro, it still evokes associations with the past.

Cargo pants: comfort and style

One of the key elements that the designer suggests returning to the modern wardrobe is cargo pants.

"Supplemented with huge outer pockets that can fit even a smartphone, because in the 2000s the trend was also for small handbags, which hardly fit anything, " writes Andre Tan.

Mini skirt: less is more

An equally important attribute is a mini skirt. According to the fashion designer, the less, the better. Some models of the 2000s resemble a belt more than a skirt.

"I think everyone definitely remembers this aesthetic, " says the designer's stories.

Racing bombers: street racer chic

At the peak of popularity, zero was not only glamorous socialites, but also street racers. Andre Tang accentuates the girl pilot look, which includes a bright leather jacket with patches and a round rivet collar.

"The image of the girl pilot is a bright leather jacket with patches and a round collar with a rivet, " explains the fashion designer.

Low rise: late 90s aesthetic

Another important trend is the low fit of jeans and pants.

"And the one where the bottom barely stays on the hips, " Andre Tan notes.

The designer explains that nostalgia and the desire to try on the lifestyle of their parents are among the reasons for the return of the Y2K style to modern trends. Among the fans of this style are many millennials, whose youth was spent against the background of scandals with Britney Spears and the aesthetics of those years.
