Artem Pyvovarov and KOLA revived classical Ukrainian poetry in a new musical collaboration
The Ukrainian music scene is always ready for new experiments, but Artem Pyvovarov's new project exceeds all expectations. The singer together with the performer KOLA presented a unique interpretation of the well-known poetry of Mykhailo Starytskyi "Night what a moon", which in a new context is called "Challenge". This collaboration became a bright event thanks to Pyvovarov's author's project "Your poems, my notes", which aims to breathe new life into classical Ukrainian works.
The new sound of the classics
As a result of the cooperation between Pivovarov and KOLA, we have a completely new sound of familiar lines. According to the concept, the clip transports viewers to different historical eras, demonstrating how creative methods changed from hand writing with a pen to typewriters. Despite the changes in technical means, the key idea – the transmission of cultural values from generation to generation – remains unchanged.
A journey through time
In the clip, Artem Pyvovarov appears as a narrator who travels through time, while KOLA remains in the present. This allows you to show how past generations influence the present. People in black clothes symbolize the sources of creativity that live beyond time, and the book becomes the personification of any work that eventually becomes the property of the people.
Creative process and emotionality
"Presenting one's vision of a classic is always a great responsibility. This poem by Mykhailo Starytskyi has been around for over a century. KOLA harmoniously complemented this musical story, added emotionality and tenderness to the composition. I hope this romantic story will resonate in people's hearts, " Artem Pyvovarov shared.
In turn, KOLA admits that Starytskyi's poetry is special to her, because she remembers it from childhood. The singer put her whole soul into the duet, creating a new melody that emphasizes the depth and mood of the work.
Cultural heritage in a new light
The project "Your poems, my notes" is an important step in popularizing Ukrainian cultural heritage. Thanks to new interpretations of classic works, modern audiences can discover the richness of Ukrainian literature.
