Aurika Rotaru: Will Ukraine be able to forgive Russia for bloody crimes?
The famous singer and people's artist of Ukraine, the younger sister of the legendary Sofia Rotaru, Aurika Rotaru, recently spoke about the ongoing war in Ukraine. In her emotional statements, the star frankly shared her thoughts on the future of relations between the two neighboring countries.
Hard words of Aurika Rotaru
Aurika Rotaru noted that the Ukrainian people will hardly be able to forgive the Russians for the terrible crimes committed against civilians. She emphasized that it may take more than a dozen years, and perhaps even generations.
"If it will happen, I don't know how many years will pass. How can a mother forgive the death of her son. More than one generation must pass and I'm not even sure that it will happen at all, " the singer shared.
Comparison with the Second World War
In her comments, Aurika Rotaru also compared the brutality of the Russians to what happened during the Second World War. She expressed her surprise that a neighboring country, with which Ukraine lived in peace for so many years, could go to war.
"They are torturing our people, mocking them, I did not expect this. No one could convince me that we will have a war. Russia and Ukraine - we lived together for so long. Ukrainian women married Russian men. We mixed so much that I thought it was impossible, " said the younger sister of Sofia Rotaru.
Conclusions and forecasts
Aurika Rotaru also commented on the situation with men of conscription age who avoid mobilization outside of Ukraine, and also expressed her attitude to the confiscation of her sister's villa in Crimea by the occupation authorities. She called on all Ukrainians to unite and preserve national unity in these difficult times.
