The heart of Kyiv is set to witness an extraordinary event this April, as the documentary "The Power of Lift" takes center stage at the House of Cinema on the 10th. This film, which soared to popularity in October 2024, chronicles the valiant efforts of the Ukrainian Army's aviation units amidst the turmoil of conflict.

A Cinematic Tribute to Aviation Heroes

The documentary, directed by Oleksandr Stratiienko and brought to life by the talents of aviation expert Timur Fatkullin and the Aerotim team, offers a rare glimpse into the lives of those who took to the skies during the first days of the full-scale invasion. It captures the essence of bravery, showcasing real pilots on critical combat missions.

Beyond the Screen: An Immersive Experience

Audiences at the event will have the unique opportunity to engage directly with these aviators—heroes of the sky—who continue to protect Ukraine. The experience extends beyond the cinematic, as the Aerotim team plans a live musical improvisation based on the film’s vinyl soundtrack. Composed by Danylo Bohdanenko (Danskiy), the album blends blues and cinematic elements, transporting listeners into the vast expanse of aerial freedom.

"Every track is a sonic portrait, a gift for the listeners. I aimed to convey the emotions of flight and freedom inherent in aviation, " shares composer Danskiy, emphasizing the creative journey of merging diverse musical genres.

Capturing Moments Through the Lens

Iryna Suldina’s photography, taken during the film’s production, further enriches the event. These images, displayed as part of an exclusive exhibition, capture the raw emotions and indomitable spirit of the pilots. Part of the proceeds from the sale of these pieces will support the 18th Separate Brigade of Army Aviation named after Igor Sikorsky.

A National Success Story

Having landed among the top five documentaries for box office earnings, "The Power of Lift" is not just a film but a phenomenon. It stands as a testament to resilience, earning accolades and competing for prestigious awards like Ukraine’s IX National Film Award "Golden Dziga." As activist Serhii Sternenko artfully notes, “This film is about the people on whom the nation stands today.”

Looking Forward

With free entry to all related events, including discussions and exhibitions, the showcase promises to inspire and educate, making it a must-attend for anyone intrigued by the intersection of history, heroism, and cinematic storytelling.
