Already from the first weeks of release, the debut thriller "Bozhe Vilni" by Ukrainian director Denys Tarasov attracted the attention of thousands of viewers. More than 26 thousand people have already visited cinemas to immerse themselves in this dramatic story about Soviet psychiatric hospitals, and the box office has exceeded 4.1 million hryvnias.

A story that reveals the secrets of the past

The plot of the film is focused on the story of a young man Andrii, who in the 70s of the last century was placed in a psychiatric hospital because of his passion for Western rock music. The film reveals an understudied topic of the use of psychiatric institutions as a tool of repression against dissidents. The tape immerses the viewer in the atmosphere of the Soviet society of that time, forcing him to think about the moral dilemmas facing the main character.

"We recreated the atmosphere of that time right on the territory of the Kyiv Pavlov Psychiatric Hospital. This allowed the actors to immerse themselves more deeply in their roles and convey the spirit of the era, " comments production designer Ivan Tyshchenko.

Outstanding cast and recognition of Irma Vitovska

It has already gained great resonance in Ukraine and promises to become an important part of the national cinematography. The production of the company "Spilna Peremoga Production" with the support of State Cinema and the distribution of FILM.UA Distribution and Kinomania Film Distribution open the way for this film to an even larger audience.
