Dmytro Volkanov, known as the author of the hit "I Found You" and a finalist of the "X-Factor 9" project, spoke frankly about the end of cooperation with the legendary Andrii Danylko. Volkanov, who worked in Verka Serdyuchka's ballet for a long time, decided to go his own way and focus on a solo career.

Why did Volkanov leave Serdyuchka

In an interview, Dmytro shared why he decided to leave Danylka's team. According to him, he gained invaluable experience working with the artist, and found in him a true mentor.

"When he took me to work in the team, he said: 'Dima, I will not help you, but you are in the team to see how it works'. I really liked the way he communicated. I found in him mentor, teacher and person I want to be like. When I joined the team, I was 18 years old. It was very serious, " said Dmytro.

Moving to Lviv and a new challenge

With the start of a full-scale war, Serdyuchka's work in the team stopped. Volkanov could not find himself in Kyiv, so he made the difficult decision to move to Lviv.

"There was no work for a certain period of time. I needed to live for something, but I didn't take money from Danylko. I didn't want to. That's why I couldn't find myself in Kyiv, and I came to Lviv. It was a new challenge for me, a turning point moment, " the singer recalled.

Back to ballet and the final choice

Over time, Verka Serdyuchka's concert activity resumed. Volkanov, who was actively engaged in songwriting, decided to return to ballet for 8 months. However, he eventually ended his collaboration with Danylk, focusing on his solo career.

"When I don't know what to do next, I'll call him and he'll help me. A person who means a lot to me. We always have something to talk about, " Dmytro shared.

Volkanov and Danylko parted ways on a positive note, maintaining warm relations. Dmytro continues to develop his musical career, using the experience and knowledge gained.
