James Cameron reveals new details about Avatar 3: Fire and Ashes at D23
In December 2025, the long-awaited triquel of James Cameron's epic fantasy saga "Avatar" will be released. During the recent Disney D23 conference, the director finally shared new details about the upcoming film.
Revolutionary changes in the plot of "Avatar 3: Fire and Ashes"
Together with the main stars of the film, Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington, Cameron revealed the subtitle of the triquel - the film will be called "Avatar 3: Fire and Ashes". According to the director, the new part of the saga will show viewers more of the planet Pandora than before.
"New cultures and settings...you'll see more of Pandora than you've seen before. The new movie isn't what you expect, but it's definitely what you want, " Cameron said.
Turning the Na'vi Universe upside down: Humans vs. Na'vi
Cameron said that everything will change in the third film. If earlier people acted as negative characters, and blue aliens were shown as kind and sensitive, now the audience will see the opposite. A few shots that were shown at D23 confirm this information. In particular, they show ominous representatives of the Na'vi people dancing surrounded by fire.
New crops on Pandora
The fictional world of Pandora continues to expand. In previous comments, Cameron had already shown the audience the land and sea Na'vi - Omaticaya and Metkayin. The third part will tell about two new cultures of these aliens. Viewers will be able to see a flying ship surrounded by screens - creatures on which the inhabitants of Pandora move in the air.
Star cast and new faces
Most of the actors from the previous films will return to their roles in Avatar 3. Among them are Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Joel David Moore, Stephen Lang and others. The newcomer to the universe will be the star of "Game of Thrones" Una Chaplin, who will play the leader of the ashen Na'vi named Varanga.
The premiere of "Avatar 3: Fire and Ashes" in Ukraine will take place simultaneously with the world premiere - on December 18, 2025.
