Ed Sheeran has once again confirmed his status as a musical icon, becoming the UK's most popular artist of 2023. This is the seventh time in the last nine years that his name shines at the top of the music charts. Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) named him the most successful artist of the year.

Three times in a row at the top

This impressive achievement is no accident. For the second year in a row, Ed Sheeran has topped the list of artists whose music is being played on UK radio, TV and in public spaces for the third year in a row.

The fourth place in the rating was taken by Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, which once again confirms his popularity. In sixth place was Elton John, who, despite his years, remains relevant. The only band on the list, Coldplay, took seventh place. Tom Grennan moved up to eighth, and Harry Styles rounded out the top nine.
