Olympic Medalist Anna Rizatdinova Stuns with a Bold Decision
In a world where opportunities abroad often seem irresistible, Anna Rizatdinova has taken a stand for her homeland. The Olympic bronze medalist, known for her grace and skill, recently revealed why she turned down a prestigious opportunity to coach the Catalonian national gymnastics team. Instead of pursuing a lucrative career overseas, Rizatdinova chose to invest her talents in Ukraine.
A Compelling Offer
Rizatdinova's career has been marked by significant achievements, but the offer to become the head coach of the Catalonian team was a tantalizing prospect. Yet, her commitment to Ukraine prevailed. She confessed that, despite the allure of such a position, her heart remained in her homeland.
"I had thoughts, to be honest, to open my school temporarily abroad. There were great offers, like becoming the main coach for the Catalonian team, a very powerful position, " Rizatdinova shared.
Challenges at Home
With her gymnastics school firmly established in Kyiv, Rizatdinova faces substantial challenges. The rising costs of rent and taxes have made it difficult to keep the school afloat. Despite these hurdles, Rizatdinova is determined to persevere, with the aid of supportive foundations that have made maintaining the academy possible.
"It's very hard to stay afloat, to be honest. Without the support of the funds... The rent is incredibly high in Kyiv, and taxes are rising. There were moments when I thought of ending it all and closing the school, " she admitted.
Investment in the Future
The gymnastics school, offering six sessions a week for four hours each, now charges a monthly fee of 4, 000 UAH. This increase reflects the inflationary pressures that the school faces, but Rizatdinova remains committed to providing quality training for young athletes.
"Currently, the subscription is 4, 000 UAH. We raised it only from this year. We held on to the pre-war price as long as we could, " she explained.
In the face of adversity, Anna Rizatdinova's dedication to her country and her sport serves as an inspiring reminder of the power of commitment and resilience.
