Garik Korogodskyi explained the difficulties with revocation of Russian citizenship

The famous Ukrainian celebrity, showman and philanthropist Garik Korogodsky recently spoke in detail about his 38-year-old son David, who still holds Russian citizenship. Why can't a citizen of Ukraine get rid of belonging to Russia?

According to Korogodskyi, David was a citizen of Russia from birth, but after the start of the full-scale invasion, he could not get rid of this status. It turned out that the procedure for leaving Russian citizenship is actually too complicated.

"Getting rid of Russian citizenship today is too difficult, almost impossible. To get rid of it, you need a Russian passport, he doesn't have one, because he hasn't renewed it for 15 years, " Garik explained.

Pitfalls and legal obstacles

Korogodsky noted that today the cancellation of Russian citizenship requires a visit to the Russian Federation and restoration of the passport. For David, as for many others, this is an unacceptable option.

"In order to get rid of this Russian citizenship today, it is necessary, as the lawyers say, to go to Moscow for one day, to renew the passport. They guarantee that he will leave, but who listens to them, how much do these guarantees cost, and no one is going to go there ", the showman added.

Refusal of TrO due to Russian citizenship

Another important detail that became known is Davyd's attempt to join the ranks of the territorial defense of Ukraine after February 24, 2022. However, he was refused because of his Russian citizenship. This is another situation that emphasizes the complexity and absurdity of the situation.

Korogodskyi's charity and business

Garik Korogodskyi is known for his eccentric behavior and unconventional approach to business and charity.
