Hryhoriy Matskevich completed work on a thriller with Tara Reid
Ukrainian make-up artist Hryhoriy Matskevich, known for his work on the film "Do you love me?", recently completed a project that promises to become a real sensation. His latest work is the Los Angeles-set psychological thriller Dr. Quarantine, starring American Pie star Tara Reid.
A thriller that will immerse you in the world of pandemic quarantine
The plot of "Dr. Quarantine" unfolds in a world where a pandemic has turned ordinary life upside down. The main character, a psychiatrist, while in quarantine, tries to help her husband and son, who are abroad. At the same time, she supports her patients through video chats, but her own neuroses gradually worsen, creating a tense atmosphere and psychological conflict.
Special effects that will remain in the memory
Hryhoriy Matskevich worked on the set as a special effects makeup artist. His role was critical to creating a realistic and tense atmosphere in the film. Matskevich noted that the difference between working in the USA is the presence of several specialists on the set, while in Ukraine a make-up artist does all the make-up in the film.
"From my experience, I can say that in Ukraine, a make-up artist does all the make-up in a film, while in America, several specialists work on the set. My role was to create make-up for special effects. I am looking forward to the release of the film so that Ukrainians can appreciate it and see the hand of the Ukrainian master in a Hollywood film, " - shared Hryhoriy Matskevich.
Matskevich's creative path: from Kyiv to Hollywood
Before working on "Dr. Quarantine", Hryhoriy Matskevich actively collaborated with Ukrainian cinematographers. He was a make-up artist in such well-known projects as Oleg Sentsov's "Rhino" and the TV series "School". Matskevich also worked on the scene of the Indian film "RRR", which was shot in Kyiv, in Mariinsky Park.
What's next?
"Dr. Quarantine" is currently in post-production, and the trailer is expected to be released soon. This film promises to be an important contribution to cinematography, and the work of Hryhoriy Matskevich once again confirms the high level of Ukrainian make-up artists.
