HBO is expanding the Game of Thrones universe: new shows are on the horizon
Fans of the "Game of Thrones" universe can rejoice - the HBO TV channel and the HBO Max streaming platform have announced the development of seven new projects that will expand this legendary world.
New horizons of the "Game of Thrones" universe
American science fiction writer George Martin, the author of the cult series of books "A Song of Ice and Fire", on the basis of which the TV series "Game of Thrones" was filmed, recently shared the news with fans during a meeting. According to him, three of these seven projects will feature real actors, while the other four will be animated. All shows are in various stages of development and production.
"We have a lot of interesting ideas and plots that we want to bring to life, " said George Martin.
What was left behind?
It is important to note that these new projects do not include the already announced House of the Dragon and Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Filming of the latter started in June, and "House of the Dragon" has already been renewed for a third season. The writer did not reveal details about the new shows, but the intrigue only adds to the curiosity.
Spin-offs and sequels
Among the announced projects, the spin-off "10 thousand ships" dedicated to the Queen of the Rhoynars of Nymeria deserves special attention. This adds to the historical context of the universe, as House of the Dragon already enthralls viewers with the story of the Targaryen Civil War, which took place some 200 years before the events of the original show.
Return of the legend
The series "Game of Thrones" was broadcast from April 17, 2011 to May 9, 2019, providing viewers with eight seasons and 73 episodes of an incredible story. New projects will certainly add new colors and storylines to the already familiar universe.
In conclusion, we can say that HBO is once again impressing its fans, offering new shows and expanding the boundaries of the beloved universe. The future promises to be even more exciting and eventful.
