Igor Skrypko: from "The Last Muscovite" to success on the Russian stage

Igor Skrypko, a Russian actor who gained popularity thanks to his role in the TV series "The Last Moskal", continues his career path in Russian theater and cinema.

Skrypko played the main role in the popular Ukrainian series, which brought him not only recognition, but also some negativity in the Russian media space. Volodymyr Nikolayenko, his colleague on the set, says:

"There was some uproar in the press. They reacted negatively... However, when my colleagues and teachers, whose opinion is very important to me, watched it, they liked it."

Ukrainian roots and career in Russia

Ihor Skrypko was born in the town of Syzran and comes from a large family with Ukrainian roots. His grandfather was born near Poltava, and his mother has a Ukrainian surname. After the release of the series "The Last Muscovite", the actor continues to work in the Moscow theater "By the Nikitsky Gate", where he plays the main roles.

Romantic stories and personal life

Skrypko is not married, although a few years ago he announced his upcoming wedding with the Ukrainian Khrystyna, the director of a film company. The wedding never took place. The former romantic relationship of Skrypka with the daughter of the Russian satirist Mikhail Zadornov also attracted the attention of the media:

"Let's put it this way: we have a romantic friendship, " the actor said.

Performances during the war

After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Skrypko continued to keep in touch with his colleagues from "The Last Moskal". He also performed in the musical Viy with Halyna Bezruk, a Ukrainian actress who is now building a career in Russia.

In his post on Instagram on February 25, 2022, Skrypko wrote about his own emotions and unfortunate circumstances:

"I don't know who started it and why it all started. We're all in an infovacuum... I can't hold back tears, like many people in Russia."

Despite difficult times and conflicting relations between the countries, Ihor Skrypko continues his career, appearing in TV series and playing in the theater. Will his talent be able to unite the hearts of viewers on both sides of the border again? Time will tell.
