The allure of a tropical paradise is enough to tempt anyone away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and for Ukrainian actress Kseniia Mishina, the island of Samui in Thailand seemed like the perfect escape. However, what was meant to be a serene retreat quickly turned into a series of unexpected challenges.

Pre-Trip Preparations Go Awry

Mishina, known for her meticulous nature, decided to prepare for her trip by removing her gel manicure. "I didn't want to risk the quality of service in the tropics, " she remarked, aiming to give her nails a much-needed break. Yet, just a week later, she found herself surprised by their less-than-ideal condition.

Accommodation Woes: A Rental Nightmare

Her challenges didn't stop there. With the aim of finding the perfect hideaway, Mishina had booked a picturesque house through a popular rental service. The setting promised tranquility and stunning views, a dream come true. However, her booking was abruptly canceled when the owner violated the platform's rules. The service apologized, fined the owner, and assured her that the deposit would be returned within a month, leaving Mishina scrambling for a new place at the eleventh hour.

A Search Amidst the Holiday Rush

Finding an alternative during the peak holiday season proved nearly impossible. "Some villa prices were so high, I joked they were worth my kidneys, " Mishina quipped. Many places, although more affordable, appeared as if they'd weathered multiple tropical storms. Eventually, she settled for a townhouse with shared amenities, a stark contrast to her original plans.

"Good morning, neighbors!" has become my new reality, she mused, adapting to this communal living arrangement.

While the townhouse is available for only two weeks, Mishina remains determined to enjoy her Thai escape, even as she continues her search for the ideal sanctuary.
