Latvian singer Laima Vaikule invited the winners of Eurovision 2024 to her festival
Latvian singer Laima Vaikule, known for her support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukraine, this year again organizes her annual music festival Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala'24. However, this year's event promises to be even brighter thanks to a special guest.
The winners of Eurovision 2024 - NEMO will come to Jurmala
NEMO, authors of the popular hit "The Code", received an invitation from Vaikule and will perform on the second day of the festival on July 27. They will perform their winning track, as well as perform in a duet with the host of the event.
The first duet, but not the last?
"It's very interesting how it will be so close. How it will even work out. By the way, I'm also going to sing a duet with him. If everything works out, there will be another duet, " Vaikule shared her plans.
This will be the first visit of singers from Switzerland to Latvia. Vaikule is looking forward to working with the 24-year-old artist, who combines rap and operatic vocals in his performances.
Friendship with Ukrainian artists
Interestingly, NEMO, a non-binary singer who asks to be addressed by the pronoun "they", has a special relationship with Ukrainian artists alyona alyona and Jerry Heil. They met at the first rehearsal of Eurovision 2024 and continued communication after the competition.
