Nata Zhizhchenko: Why did Chernihiv become my "soulful" city?
From the first chords, the music of Nata Zhizhchenko, known under the pseudonym ONUKA, enchants and transports the world with gentle notes of memories and inspiration. Her work is a path between the two cities that shaped her life: Kyiv and Chernihiv.
Kyiv and Chernihiv: Two poles of one soul
"Wikipedia says that I was born in Chernihiv - this is not true. I was born in Kyiv, but my whole family is musical and deep - it is from Chernihiv. My grandfather is from Chernihiv, my grandmother, my mother and everything that ONUKA is from Chernihiv. If mentally, Chernihiv is my city, but the city of formation, birth, and education is Kyiv, " Nata admits.
Kyiv for Zhizhchenko is the city where her life journey began. Here she spent her childhood, learned her first chords, and first appeared on stage here. But it was Chernihiv, with its quiet streets and special rhythm of life, that became a spiritual refuge for the singer.
Chernihiv is a city of inspiration and new horizons
Despite her love for Kyiv, Chernihiv has become for Nata an island of peace, a place where time seems to stand still. "Now I'm much happier and more comfortable in Chernihiv, because the flow of time is really different there, " she shares. Here, in the family home, which she and her family are turning into a space for creativity, the singer finds inspiration for her new projects.
Revival of family traditions
While the surrounding world is changing at a frantic pace, Nata finds harmony in the traditions of her ancestors. Her music is a bridge between past and present, between memories and dreams. For her, Chernihiv is more than just a place on the map, it is a cultural and emotional legacy that lives in her heart.
The search for oneself between two cities, two rhythms of life, two worlds is the story of Nata Zhizhchenko, which inspires new achievements.
