Jamala's new video work: Symbolism and family archives in the clip ARAFAT DAĞINDAN
? The famous Ukrainian singer Jamala impresses again with her talent and unique approach to art. Recently, the star released a new music video for a song from the album "QIRIM" called "ARAFAT DAĞINDAN", which is already available on YouTube. This video is not just music, it is a real story full of symbolism and emotions.
Pilgrimage and symbols of Crimean Tatar culture
In the new music video, Jamala uses many symbols. In particular, scenes of pilgrimage in the desert, symbolizing the constant struggle of the Crimean Tatar people for their place under the sun. This element gives the video a deeper meaning and makes it even more impressive for the viewers.
Archive footage from native Crimea
The clip is also supplemented with archival footage from Jamala's family archive, which was shot in her native Crimea. This gives the video a special authenticity and allows viewers to better understand the singer's personal story.
A team of professionals headed by Herman Nenov
A team of professionals worked on the creation of this masterpiece. The video was directed by Herman Nenov, who became famous for his work at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool. Stylist Yuriy Zhuikov chose costumes for Jamala, and choreographer Alyona Tkachenko was responsible for staging the movements.
Tests for a new mother
It was a real test for Jamala, who only three months ago gave birth to her third son. Filming lasted a day, and the singer admits that it was physically very difficult due to nighttime air alarms and the need to feed the baby during breaks between scene changes.
"First of all, it was physically very difficult for me to sustain such a frantic pace, given the number of nighttime air alarms, as well as the baby in my arms, which make a full night's sleep the biggest dream for me. Second, I am breastfeeding and need it was in time to feed Alim in the short breaks between changing scenes and changing clothes. However, the incredible support of my husband Bekir, the team and the complex and clear work of the entire film crew led by Herman Nenov made it possible for the shooting to take place, " said the actress.
A call to the world
We will remind that Jamala repeatedly called on the world community to help Ukraine win the war. Her personal history is also full of tragedy, because the invaders took her family's home in Crimea and looted the property.
