The famous Ukrainian writer Oksana Zabuzhko pleased her readers with a new literary list containing the best Ukrainian novels of the 19th and 20th centuries. And although this list was originally a personal project of the author, she decided to share it with a wide audience on her Facebook.

Enchanting selection: Which novels made the list?

Zabuzhko emphasizes that her selection is based on personal preferences and readability — the main selection criterion. Among the selected works, we find such classic names as Vasyl Mova with the novel "Old Nest and Young Birds", Panas Myrnyi with "Whore", Ivan Franko with "Crossroads" and many others. This list not only reflects the author's personal literary taste, but also makes you think about how it coincides with the opinions of philological experts.

Passion with a touch of history: why is it important?

"If my list makes someone go to the library or discover a new classic for themselves, then it was worth making it public, " says Zabuzhko.

It is important to note that such a step on the part of Oksana Zabuzhko can become a real incentive for renewing interest in Ukrainian classics. After all, unfortunately, not all modern readers are familiar with these masterpieces of literature, which are so important for our cultural heritage.

Literary Renaissance: future projects of Zabuzhko

This year, Oksana Zabuzhko is also preparing a special project — she will be the author of the text of the Radio Dictator of National Unity 2024. Thanks to this, everyone who wants to improve their knowledge of the Ukrainian language will be able to enjoy her skills once again.
