Pedan, at 42, recalls his wedding day with a glint of humor and fondness. Instead of a sleek limousine, a 13-year-old Mazda 626, loaned from a friend, became the vehicle of choice. As Pedan emerged from the sunroof, bouquet in hand, the wind scattered petals across the yard, leaving him with just three roses.

"I thought I was living a movie moment, but reality had its own plans, " Pedan mused.

The Unexpected Drama of the White Jacket

Arriving at his bride's home, Pedan was greeted by his mother-in-law's surprise. His white jacket, now streaked with grease, caused a stir as guests scrambled for solutions. In an era marked by scarcity, replacing the stained jacket was not an option, forcing Pedan into a makeshift ensemble a size too large.
