Olya Polyakova: A sharp statement on Instagram

One of the brightest stars of Ukrainian show business, Olya Polyakova, used her influence to express support for the LGBT community and appeal to Ukrainians who oppose equal rights. In her Instagram, the artist published an emotional post, which immediately attracted the attention of thousands of followers.

"As long as someone is worried that the rainbow will turn them into gays, people have to make fictitious marriages with friends. Because they won't let you into the intensive care unit with your loved one, won't tell you about capture or injury, and will generally send you to one place. Even for identification in they won't let you into the morgue, because legally you are a nobody. In times of war, all citizens of our country need equal rights. There is no stamp in your passport - for the state, your relationship does not exist, " Olya Polyakova emphasized.

Importance of draft laws for the LGBT community

The singer also drew attention to two important draft laws that are currently under consideration. She emphasized their significance for the protection of the rights of the LGBT community in Ukraine.

"Now we have two draft laws pending - No. 5488 and No. 9103, which literally provide two simple things. The first is that you cannot beat a person because you don't like who he or she goes hand in hand with. The second is that you can issue relationships to those who want to formalize them. And until they are accepted, everyone will be equal, but some will be more equal, " the singer also added.

LGBT Pride Month: Equality March in Kyiv

The month of LGBT pride began on June 1, when representatives of the LGBT community stand up for their rights. This year, on June 16, the Equality March will take place in Kyiv, which is planned to be organized in the subway under martial law.
