British actor Orlando Bloom, known for his roles in popular films, has once again proven his commitment to charity and helping children. In his latest video message, which appeared on the social networks of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine, the star shared a touching story about his trip to Ukraine.

Orlando Bloom about the children of Ukraine

In March 2023, during his visit to the country, the actor met 8-year-old Milana, who was forced to flee from her native Irpen due to heavy shelling. The girl suffered severe injuries that led to partial loss of vision, but she did not lose her spirit.

Hope through art

"Our duty is to provide children in Ukraine with a future that will give them hope and opportunities so that they can study safely in schools, can reveal their potential and grow up in safety, in caring families that receive adequate social support. We cannot allow this war to destroy Ukraine's most important resource — its people, " Blum said in his address.

Milana attends art therapy classes organized by UNICEF at the Kyiv railway station, which help children overcome traumatic memories and reveal their creative abilities. These classes became a kind of oasis of hope for her in a world that had changed because of the war.

History of the first visit

Orlando Bloom visited Ukraine back in April 2016, when he came for the first time as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador. Then the actor visited several cities, including Kyiv, Svyatohirsk, Kramatorsk, Slovyansk, Mariupol and Kharkiv. Since then, his connection with Ukrainian children has only strengthened.

Bloom continues to actively support UNICEF and, using her platform, draws attention to important social issues facing children in Ukraine. His meetings and support help raise awareness of the needs of conflict-affected children.

Orlando Bloom once again demonstrates that real heroes don't always wear capes, and their exploits happen not only on the big screen, but also in real life. This actor continues to inspire by example, showing how one can use their fame for the benefit of others.
