The famous Ukrainian singer and People's Artist of Ukraine Pavlo Zibrov for the first time frankly told whether he has relatives who currently live in Russia. The artist also admitted whether he keeps in touch with them after the start of the full-scale invasion. He shared this in the "My Story" program.
Pavlo Zibrov about relatives in Russia: complete severance of ties
Pavlo Zibrov frankly admitted that he has many relatives on his father's side who live in Russia. However, as it turned out, the artist has no desire to communicate with them, because they blindly believe in propaganda narratives.
"As they say, I have no relatives. They are gone. They are poisoned by the ideology that Putin has been pursuing for so many years. This is not yesterday or the day before yesterday, but has been going on for decades, unfortunately. And after 2014, we are already cold we talked. We talked for 2-3 minutes, then politics somehow got involved in our conversation. That's why it's cold, and after 2022, one call is enough, it's not necessary, " explained the performer.
"I don't even want to call": Zibrov's frankness
Zibrov also shared that he repeatedly tried to explain to his relatives that Putin is a murderer, but this communication did not have any success. The artist decided that keeping his cool was more important than trying to convince someone.
"I tried, so what... You won't prove anything to them, because politics has taken root there. I even have two cousins in Sevastopol. I decided not to communicate for myself. I have a brother Volodya here, and he was also called from Voronezh, Kursk region... There are a lot of cousins on the paternal side, they have large families. Now they cut ties with no one, because after a few minutes the conversation comes to the point that we are "fascists", "one people" and " sold to America, " added the singer.
Summary and forecast for the future
The story of Pavel Zibrov is a vivid example of how the political situation can spoil even the strongest family ties. The artist has kept his position and is not afraid to defend it in front of his loved ones. His decision to cut ties with his relatives in Russia may be an important step to preserve his own peace and dignity.
