Prince Harry talks about the danger for Meghan Markle

In a new ITV documentary, 39-year-old Duke of Sussex Harry revealed why his wife, Meghan Markle, is not coming to the UK. Harry, who now lives in California with his wife and two children, said the main reason for this was fear for the safety of his family.

The threat to Meghan: the prince's words

"It's still dangerous, and all it takes is one person reading this stuff to act on what they read. And it doesn't matter if it's a knife or acid, whatever it is, it things that cause me real concern. That's one of the reasons why I don't want to bring my wife back to this country, " the son of King Charles III explained.

Historical context and decision of the prince

Previous threats to Meghan's life were confirmed by the former head of Scotland Yard's counter-terrorism unit, Neil Basu, in 2022. The police then found the culprits and brought them to justice. Because of these security considerations, Harry decided to abdicate his royal duties and move with his family to another continent.

Loss of royal guard

After their move, the Executive Committee for the Protection of Members of the Royal Family and Public Figures (RAVEC) stripped them of their right to British police protection. Even Harry's request to return the guard at his expense did not work. The last time Meghan and the children broke this rule was during the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

Plans for the future

Prince Harry emphasizes that he cannot put his wife and children in danger. He said that given his life experience, he does not want to expose himself to danger unnecessarily.

"I can't put my wife in that kind of danger, and given my life experience, I don't want to put myself in unnecessary danger, " Harry added.

Results and forecasts

Thus, the Duke of Sussex chooses to remain in California to protect his family, although he sometimes returns to Great Britain for work or on the occasion of important events for the Windsors. This decision underscores his commitment to his family and his desire to ensure their safety.
