Russian authorities in Crimea announce nationalization

On Saturday, June 8, the Russian occupation authorities in Crimea announced plans to nationalize the property of 110 Ukrainian individuals and legal entities. Under the guise of "nationalization of assets", the occupiers intend to take property from those who showed "unfriendly behavior" towards Russia.

Jamala is among the victims

Jamala, a famous Ukrainian singer of Crimean Tatar origin, was among the notable persons whose property was nationalized. The agency said that a criminal case was initiated against the artist and she was declared wanted. The reason is the alleged spread of false information about the Russian army.

Quotes and few people

"The Russian Federation plans to add to the list of nationalized property, the owners of which are Ukrainians who support the Kyiv regime and sponsor the Armed Forces of Ukraine, " said the head of the Russian parliament in the temporarily occupied Crimea, Volodymyr Konstantinov, in his official Telegram channel.

Other victims

In addition to Jamala, the list of nationalized assets included Arseniy Yatsenyuk's real estate in Yalta, the property of a member of the Brovary Council, the holding company "Kyivmiskbud", the hotel "Bristol" and many other objects and persons. It should be noted that the Ukrainian authorities categorically do not recognize such "nationalization".

Reaction of Ukraine

The Ukrainian side has already declared the illegality of such actions by the occupation authorities and noted that the struggle for the return of all nationalized assets will continue. It is important to note that this is not the first case of pressure on Ukrainian cultural and business figures in the occupied territories.
