Ruslan Danilkin conquers the catwalk: the presentation of the Gasanova brand at Ukrainian Fashion Week
Fashion has always been about more than just clothes, but also about powerful and inspiring stories.
Presentation of the Gasanova brand at Ukrainian Fashion Week
An unusual event took place at this year's Ukrainian Fashion Week in Kyiv. Ruslana Danilkina, a war veteran, appeared on the podium in a short silver dress from the Gasanova brand. This moment became a symbol of strength, courage and steadfastness of spirit.
The story of Ruslana Danilkina: from the war to the fashion catwalk
Ruslana Danilkina from Odesa went to the front as a volunteer at the age of 18, served as a liaison officer. Her story is full of pain and loss. In February 2023, the girl came under artillery fire in the Kherson direction, which led to the amputation of her left leg. But Ruslana did not give up and continued her active public life. She plays sports, travels and participates in various activities.
SS25 collection by Gasanova: soap bubbles as a symbol of hope
At the Ukrainian Fashion Week, Ruslana presented the SS25 collection from the Gasanova brand. The collection evokes memories of childhood, where soap bubbles symbolize joy and carefreeness. At the same time, the collection reflects modernity, leaving room for light and hope, even in dark times.
"It's not just clothes, it's a symphony of hope and joy, " commented one of the viewers.
Other veterans on the catwalks: a new trend in fashion
Interestingly, the Gasanova brand is not the only one that has involved veterans in its shows. Andreas Moskin and Nadya Dzyak also invited wounded fighters with prostheses to the podium, thus emphasizing the importance of inclusion and support.
The significance of the event and the forecast for the future
Ukrainian Fashion Week, which has been held since 1997, continues to surprise and inspire. Involving veterans in fashion shows is not only a bold move, but also an important social message. This is proof that fashion can be a tool to draw attention to important social issues.
