"Let's create an anthem for the battle for light together. A proper, Cossack-style one that resonates far and wide, " Usyk exclaims in a video, where his rhythmic punching of a boxing bag sets the beat.

Accompanying Usyk's powerful punches, the video further intertwines sounds of defensive operations and the work of rescuers and energy workers addressing the aftermath of Russian strikes. The anthem's core motif draws inspiration from the traditional Ukrainian folk song "Oh, the Reapers on the Hill."

A Star-Studded Musical Collaboration

In a show of national unity, renowned Ukrainian artists including Monatik, Onuka, Kazka, Lida Lee, and Dakh Daughters have already joined the flashmob. Adding a poignant touch to this initiative, around 40 Ukrainian veterans, including DTEK miners, Metinvest metallurgists, and Azovstal defenders, will accompany Usyk to Riyadh.
