Today marks the 37th anniversary of Taras Topoli, the frontman of the "Antitila" band. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the artist's life was divided into "before" and "after". We have collected the most interesting moments from his star journey, personal life and decision to take up arms.

The musical path of Taras Topoli

Taras Topolya was born in Kyiv and was fond of music from an early age. At the age of 6, he began attending a music school. The boy sang in the Revutsky chapel choir, and even performed in the Vatican for Pope John Paul II. In high school, Taras created a band that performed at the graduation dinner with the composition "Antibody". This song later became the name of the band.

After school, Topolya entered the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, but music remained in his heart. After participating in the "Chance" project, the group quickly gained popularity, and in 2008 their first album "BuduVudu" was released.

Personal life and volunteer activities

The love story of Taras and the singer Alyosha began with an ordinary friendship, which grew into something more. The couple married after the birth of their son and now have three children. During the full-scale war, Elena and her children moved to the USA, and Taras volunteered for the front.

In 2014, Topolya started the "Vilni-UA" fund, which raised funds to support the Ukrainian military and the civilian population.

Taras Topolya and the decision to take up arms

After February 24, 2022, members of the "Antitila" band joined the 130th battalion of territorial defense of Kyiv. Topola was taken out of the combat zone almost two years ago, but he remains in reserve and can return to the front on orders.

"I dream of being involved in the counteroffensive in Crimea, " said Topolya.

Where and what is the band "Antitila" doing now

The band is currently touring various countries, raising money to support the battalion through the Antitila Foundation. They continue to create and inspire others with their music. In April, Taras released a video in which he mentioned his concert in Yalta. According to the musicians, there will be a performance in Crimea, but not on August 24, 2024.
