Ukrainian writer and musician Serhii Zhadan took an unexpected and courageous step, joining the ranks of the 13th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine "Charter". This news became a real sensation in the cultural and military space.

The writer and leader of the band "Zhadan and Dogs" announced that he and three members of his band are currently undergoing military training. Among the new recruits is guitarist Yevhen Turchynov, who also decided to become part of the 13th "Charter" brigade. This decision of Serhii was a logical continuation of his active support of the Ukrainian military during the war.

Charity poetry evening

At the end of May, Serhiy Zhadan gathered more than 8, 000 spectators in Kyiv's "Palace of Sports" for one of the biggest poetry evenings. During the event, he presented his collection "All Poems", and all funds collected at the evening were donated to the needs of the 13th "Charter" brigade. Zhadan has repeatedly helped these fighters, but his latest step - joining the ranks of the National Guard - impresses with its determination.

When there was a poetry evening at the Palace of Sports in Kyiv, I was already a recruit and wrote an application for leave - the management was understanding, they let me go. moreover, the evening was charitable and we transferred all the earned money to the Charter, " the writer shared.

Regarding his further creative plans, Serhiy Zhadan explained that while he and his colleagues are recruits, he is not making plans for the future and does not yet know what he will become in the army. However, his step shows deep devotion to his country and readiness to fight for its independence.
