Ukrainian Singer Zlata Ognevich Falls Victim to a Fraudster: A Shocking $250, 000 Loss
Ukrainian singer Zlata Ognevich recently opened up about a distressing experience during one of her concert tours. In an interview, the star revealed how she fell victim to a fraudster, losing a staggering $250, 000.
Trust Betrayed: The Beginning of the Ordeal
Ognevich recounted how she first met the concert organizer, who had previously worked with the band SKAI. His impressive track record of organizing over 100 concerts for SKAI during the invasion made Ognevich trust him implicitly.
"I don't know how this happened to me... It seemed like I already had experience working with people. I met a concert organizer who had organized tours for SKAI. I trusted him because he had organized over 100 concerts for them during the invasion, and no one else was working at that time. We trusted him, " Ognevich emphasized.
The Unraveling: Realization of the Scam
The turning point came during the final concert of the "Viddayu" tour at the October Palace in Kyiv. Ognevich noticed that the organizer was stalling on payments, raising her suspicions.
"We worked with him on the 'Viddayu' tour, and the last concert was at the October Palace. It was there that I realized something was wrong... He was delaying payments. The moment came when it was revealed that he hadn't settled payments for five concerts with my entire team. I was left without fees... And he ran away with the money, " Ognevich shared.
The Fallout: Financial and Emotional Impact
The financial blow was severe, with losses estimated at $250, 000. The emotional toll was just as significant, as Ognevich and her team were left in a state of shock and disbelief.
Pursuing Justice: The Fraudster's Fate
Ognevich also disclosed that the fraudster is now internationally wanted and might even have been killed due to his criminal activities.
"If we take all the artists, in general, he caused damage worth 10 million hryvnias. I have information that he was laundering cryptocurrency through these concerts. He might not even be alive anymore. These 'friends', criminals, could have killed him. We have a lot of different information, some of which I can't disclose because the investigation is ongoing. He has already been declared internationally wanted, " Ognevich added.
The shocking revelation underscores the vulnerability even seasoned artists can face in the music industry. As the investigation continues, Ognevich remains hopeful for justice.
