Garik Korogodskiy Shakes Tradition: Why His Children Won't Inherit a Fortune
In a world where opulence often overshadows values, Ukrainian businessman Garik Korogodskiy has made a bold decision that is turning heads. Despite his substantial wealth, Korogodskiy has chosen not to leave any financial inheritance to his children. This unorthodox move is rooted in his desire for them to learn the ropes of earning their own fortune.
A Legacy Beyond Money
Korogodskiy, 64, is not leaving his children entirely empty-handed. Instead, he is entrusting them with the management of his cherished "Zhyttelyub Foundation." This organization, dedicated to enriching the lives of the elderly, will be the sole inheritance for his offspring.
"I want my children to look after the foundation. That's all I'll leave them. I won't give them money, " Korogodskiy explained, emphasizing the value of hard-earned success.
Life Lessons from a Self-Made Success
Reflecting on his humble beginnings, Korogodskiy stresses the importance of self-reliance. Born into poverty, he fought to achieve his own success and believes his children should do the same. "I've already invested heavily in their education and development, " he asserts, viewing this as a significant contribution to their future independence.
A Family Aligned with Purpose
Korogodskiy’s children are not rebelling against this unconventional decision. His son, actively involved in AI and drone production, travels between Ukraine and abroad, while one daughter is deeply immersed in biotechnology research in London. Two more of his children reside in Ukraine, each pursuing their own paths.
A Broader Perspective on Wealth
This decision of not passing down wealth, but instead a mission, redefines traditional inheritance concepts. As economic tides shift, Korogodskiy's approach may well herald a new philosophical trend among the affluent.
