The recent news about the arrest of Justin Timberlake for alleged drunken driving has shaken the public. However, the singer's lawyer, Edward Burke, insists that his client was not intoxicated at the time of the arrest.

Detention and its circumstances

Timberlake was pulled over by police on June 18 in Long Island, New York, when he failed to stop at a stop sign and failed to stay in his lane. His eyes were "bloodshot and glassy, " police said.

Words of the lawyer

Lawyer Edward Burke said the police made "mistakes" in their documents and that his client was not drunk. He also noted that Timberlake had dinner with friends in a restaurant where, as usual, police officers patrolled.

"Justin was having dinner with friends, and there were police cars outside the restaurant, as usual. They're looking for people who go out after midnight and who might be drunk, " the interlocutor explained.

Court case

Local judge Carl Ayras ordered the singer to appear in court on August 2, but allowed him to do so remotely due to his busy tour schedule. Only time will tell if Timberlake can avoid the serious consequences of this situation.

Tour in support of the album

At the time of the incident, Timberlake was in the active phase of his tour in support of his sixth solo album, Everything I Thought It Was. He has performances in Chicago this week and New York's Madison Square Garden next week. The first leg of his American tour will end on July 9.

Prospects of the European tour

After a short break, Timberlake will go on a European tour, which will begin on July 29 in Krakow. Next, he is expected to perform in Germany, Belgium, England, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and France.
