The scandal surrounding the Maldives: Tetyana Prentkovich is frank about the reaction of society
A millionaire blogger from Ternopil, Tetyana Prentkovich, recently openly commented on the scandalous departure of her husband, Andrii Gonkovsky, to the Maldives. In the issue of Okay Eva, Tatyana admitted that she regrets this step.
Why did the Maldives become a trigger?
Prentkovich shared that she did not expect such a negative reaction from society. She is sure that the cause of the outrage was precisely the expensive location for recreation.
"We thought everyone was doing it. A lot of public people are going out, vacationing somewhere. We wouldn't want it to be seen, because given the context, not even during the Maldives war, it's a very triggery topic. If we were seen on Sharm- el-Sheikh or in Moldova, there would be no such resonance. For people, it is like a red rag. The Maldives immediately sounds like a large amount of money, " said the blogger.
Plans to return to Ukraine
After a vacation in the Maldives, Tetiana and Andriy planned to return to Ukraine, but circumstances forced them to change their plans. Prentkovich explained that they stayed abroad because of anxiety for their family.
"And we would have continued to live in Ternopil. We wanted to return, we thought we would wait a few weeks now and return, but it did not stop. And we made a decision that would be better for our family, our children, " she commented.
How did Andrii Gonkovskyi get to the Maldives?
We will remind you that Andriy left Ukraine on legal grounds to hold a charity event in Poland. He then joined his wife and children in the Maldives. This departure did not go unnoticed, which caused a scandal.
Summary and conclusions
This scandal became another example of how society reacts to the actions of public figures in difficult times. The Maldives has indeed become a trigger for many Ukrainians because of its association with big spending. The choice of location for recreation in wartime can have a significant impact on reputation, and this case only underscored the importance of considering public sentiment when making decisions about public activities.
