The youngest son of King Charles III, Prince Harry, was once again at the center of a scandal. The Duke of Sussex has been nominated for the prestigious Pat Tillman Award. Named after a US Army soldier killed in Afghanistan, this award honors unsung heroes. However, many believe that Prince Harry is not worthy of this honor.

Work in "Invincible Games"

Prince Harry established an annual Paralympic-style competition called the Invincible Games to allow wounded servicemen and veterans to try their hand at sports such as wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and indoor rowing. His tireless work to make a positive impact in the veteran community led to the nomination for the award.

Outrage among relatives of Pat Tillman

The mother of the fallen soldier, Mary Tillman, expressed her negative attitude towards the nomination of Prince Harry. She believes that the prize should be awarded to less controversial persons.

"There are recipients who are much more suitable. There are people in the veterans community who are doing tremendous things to help veterans. Those people don't have the money, the resources, the connections or the privileges that Prince Harry has. I think those are the kind of people should be recognized, " said Mary Tillman.

Support and criticism

Different people express their opinion on this matter. Former NFL player Pat McAfee echoed Mary Tillman, saying that world leaders should support sports, not gain recognition.

On the other hand, former Pat Tillman Award winner Jake Wood supported Prince Harry, highlighting his contribution to supporting veterans after service.

"He's a royal prince, there are 100 different things he could have done with his life after serving in the British armed forces, but he chose to dedicate a large part of his life after the army to helping veterans, " said Jake Wood.

Petition for review of decision

On the website of the American cable sports television channel, a petition to review the decision to award Prince Harry appeared, which gained 68, 000 signatures in ten days. The statement said that bestowing this honor on someone who does not reflect the intent of the award diminishes its value and dishonors Tillman's memory.

Whether the Pat Tillman Award will be presented to Prince Harry remains to be seen. However, this scandal has already caused a stir both among the public and among veterans.
