Scandal Erupts: Kyiv University Rector Accused of Harassment

In a shocking revelation, Mikhail Poplavskyi, the rector of Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, has found himself at the center of a scandal following allegations of harassment. The accusations were brought to light by university alumna, Vladyslava Korenna, who recounted her experience in a detailed Facebook post.

Vladyslava Korenna shared her disturbing narrative about an incident in January 2021, during her third year at the university. According to her, she was transported by car out of Kyiv by a security guard, only to find herself in a strange setting that resembled a "guest room for girls".

"I arrive at this place and am led into a room set up like a guest room for girls, with a robe hanging on a hanger and a bathroom. We sit at a table, they pour me Hennessy and tell me to drink on an empty stomach. I refuse and am met with insults, " recounted Vladyslava.

A Disturbing Encounter

The story unfolded further as Vladyslava described how her "interlocutor" claimed that all women in positions of power had reached them "through the bed", and attempted to kiss her, which she resisted. The evening escalated to a bizarre game of billiards "for a kiss or 100 dollars", a situation she tried to defuse with her remaining money.

The Broader Context

This revelation adds to the recent controversies at the university, following the dismissal of director and lecturer Oleksandr Balaban over claims of inappropriate behavior and student humiliation. Interestingly, a group of students rallied to defend Balaban, arguing he was falsely accused.
