Scandal in Mexico: The black Targaryen flag at Chapultepec Castle caused outrage
The producers of HBO are again on the wave of discussion, but this time not because of the plot twists of the TV series "Dragon House". The video of Chapultepec Castle, on which the black flag of the Targaryen family is flying, caused the indignation of the local authorities of Mexico City.
Reaction of local authorities
The National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) announced that the image was artificially generated using computer graphics and never hung on the castle. "Reproduction of images from this location for use in advertising for this series was not authorized, " the institute said in a statement.
"The legal department of INAH will take all necessary legal measures, as this is an improper use of images of a historical place, " the institute emphasized.
Historical context of Chapultepec Castle
Chapultepec Castle is not just an architectural monument, but a symbol of Mexican history. Until 1325, the capital of the Aztec Empire was located here, and during the war of 1846-1848, the Mexicans heroically defended the castle from the US troops.
HBO advertising campaign and plans for "House of the Dragon"
On the eve of the premiere of the second season of "Dragon House", which will take place on June 16, HBO created several promo videos. With the help of computer graphics, the Targaryen and Hightower flags were painted on world-famous buildings such as Pennsylvania Station and Grand Central Station in New York.
Intrigue of the second season
The second season of "Dragon House" will continue the story that stopped at the tragic events of the first season. Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alysanta Hightower will once again find themselves at the center of a civil war for the throne. The main roles will be performed by Olivia Cooke, Emma D'Arcy and Matt Smith, and Ryan Condal will remain the showrunner.
Despite the scandal, the series promises to be exciting, and the conflict around Chapultepec Castle only adds intrigue to the upcoming premiere.
