Scandal with Khrystyna Solova: Serhiy Zhadan expressed his opinion
Ukrainian writer and musician Serhii Zhadan expressed his opinion about the scandal surrounding the singer Khrystyna Solovya, who during a concert in Chornomorsk used obscene words to describe the old name of the city. Zhadan emphasized that the indignation of Ukrainians was caused not so much by swearing, but by the fact that her words touched on the issue of decommunization.
Serhii Zhadan about the scandal
Zhadan, who is currently serving in the defense of Ukraine, emphasized in his video message that Solova's obscene language was not particularly harsh or offensive. He called on Ukrainians not to succumb to these provocations and not to look for enemies among their own people.
"Ukrainians were outraged not by profanity, but by what it was aimed at. Obviously, this is about the issue of decommunization. And as for expressiveness, if Les Podervyanskyi was here, he would be surprised, what do you think, as if Ukrainians started use swearing only during war, " Zhadan said.
