How did it happen?

Users of social networks, in particular TikTok, declassified the finale of the season, publishing about 30 minutes of footage from the eighth series. An unknown author posted 14 videos that instantly gained tens of thousands of views before the account was banned.

Viral spread

It was not possible to contain the spread of the leak. The videos quickly spread to other social networks such as X (formerly Twitter) and Reddit. This means that a large number of users are already familiar with the key moments of the finale.

The issue of leaks is a chronic one for the Game of Thrones franchise.

HBO and Max have yet to comment on the situation in detail, but the incident raises questions about content security in the entertainment industry.

Historical context

This is not the first case of leakage of episodes of the TV series "Game of Thrones". Last October, a similar incident happened with the finale of the first season of "Dragon House". Then the company blamed one of its content distribution partners for this. During all eight seasons of the main series, spoilers appeared repeatedly on the network, especially in the final season.
