Scandal behind the scenes: Chris Brown is back in the spotlight for beating fans
American singer and actor Chris Brown is again at the center of a scandal. This time he is accused of brutally beating four fans backstage at a concert in Texas. The situation that happened on July 19 at Dickies Arena caused a wide response.
Conflict after the concert
Following the performance on the Live Nation tour, four fans - Larry Parker, Joseph Lewis, Charles Bush and Da Marcus Powell - were invited backstage to meet Brown. The singer appeared 30 minutes later than expected, which already created tension.
"Oh yeah, there were. What happened? I don't forget anything, " Chris Brown allegedly said, recalling past conflicts.
Escalation of tension
The situation escalated when Charles Bush decided to congratulate Brown on his successful speech. According to the plaintiffs, that's when one of the singer's team members named Hood Boss picked up a chair and threw it at Bush's head. This was the beginning of a fight in which 7-10 people from Brown's entourage participated.
Consequences of the incident
All four fans were injured during the fight. Larry Parker tried to escape but was knocked down the stairs and punched and kicked. Joseph Lewis and Da Marcus Powell were also seriously injured. All of them are currently undergoing treatment.
"No one should have to endure what these customers have gone through. We will seek the maximum amount of damages allowed by law for this egregious behavior, " said plaintiffs' attorney Tony Busby.
Historical context
This is not the first time Chris Brown has been at the center of a scandal. In 2009, he pleaded guilty to assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna. Other incidents, including a fight with Drake in 2012 and assault lawsuits, don't paint him a positive image either.
What's next?
The trial against Brown and his team is just beginning, but is already generating significant public interest. Will he be able to avoid serious consequences again? Time will tell, but one thing is clear: the singer's reputation is again at risk.
