Svyatoslav Vakarchuk continues his service in the Ukrainian Armed Forces: as a musician, he helps the Ukrainian army
Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, the frontman of the band "Ocean Elsa", continues his service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, denying rumors about demobilization. The first reports about the musician's alleged dismissal from the army caused a wave of discussion, but the band's press secretary Victoria Khomenko explained the situation.
False rumors about Vakarchuk's demobilization
"Sviatoslav was mobilized in March 2022 - this is known information. He came to the Military Commissariat in Lviv with his brother in the first days of the full-scale invasion, " comments Viktoriya Khomenko.
Vakarchuk serves as a moral and psychological training officer, and his transfer from one position to another was incorrectly interpreted as demobilization.
Vakarchuk's contribution to charity
"Sviatoslav himself constantly transfers these funds to our fund, because we use it to make purchases for our friendly teams, " Khomenko notes.
During his service, Vakarchuk received 850, 000 hryvnias, which he completely handed over to help the Ukrainian military. The latest purchases include six REEs worth 900, 000 hryvnias.
Svyatoslav's reaction to rumors
Despite the support from fans, rumors about enrichment at the expense of the army affected the musician.
"Do they think that I took this money for myself? Seriously?", Svyatoslav said.
Vakarchuk continues to actively support the Armed Forces, both financially and morally. His principled position not to display his charitable actions only strengthens his reputation as a true patriot.
