Ukrainian celebrity Taras Tsymbalyuk found himself at the center of a scandal because of a video where he communicates in Russian and relaxes to Russian songs. After a day of silence, the actor finally took to Instagram with his appeal to his followers, admitting his "gross mistake".

Tsimbalyuk's reaction to the scandal

Taras Tsymbalyuk was seen in the company of blogger Anna Alkhim in a video that went viral. Ukrainians quickly reacted to this, condemning the actor for using the language of the occupier during the war. In his address, Tsymbalyuk ironized:

"Everyone cursed me already? Everyone wished death on me and my loved ones?"

The actor admitted that he made a mistake and that he does not want to make excuses and blame someone else for the situation.

"Society has turned into radical beasts"

Tsymbalyuk expressed his disappointment regarding aggression in society, noting:

"Society has turned into radical beasts who are ready to bite each other at the first opportunity. I gave such an opportunity for the first time and it immediately became a driving force."

He also added that his position as a public figure imposes additional responsibility on him.

Calls to fellow influencers

The actor appealed to his colleagues, urging them to be vigilant and aware of their responsibility to their subscribers. He noted:

"Realize that people are following you. As practice shows, you can help the country for years, be an example and an idol, but one mistake is enough and you will be mixed with shit with great joy."

Consideration of the professionalism of journalists

Tsymbalyuk also did not ignore the Ukrainian press, accusing journalists of low-quality "PR":

"I am very sorry for the lame level of professionalism of a certain layer of journalists who are used to PR only on people's [mistakes]. Because they understand that this is coverage and the only chance for their audiences..."

Tsymbalyuk's statement sparked a wave of discussion on social media, with many of his followers expressing support and understanding.
