Farewell to Anastasia Zavorotnyuk: The Final Goodbye

A Gathering of Controversial Figures

In a somber ceremony held at the Pokrovsky Monastery in Moscow, fans and prominent figures came together to bid a final farewell to Anastasia Zavorotnyuk. The actress, known for her controversial portrayal of a "provincial girl" from Mariupol, passed away after a long battle with brain cancer.

Elite and Betrayers Mingle

The event saw the attendance of Russia's elite and individuals deemed traitors by Ukraine. Tatiana Navka, a Russian figure skater from Dnipro and wife of Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov, was among the first to arrive. They were joined by Lolita, a noted betrayer of Ukraine, and Edgard Zapashny, a circus artist who openly supports the ongoing conflict.

Personal Tributes and Restrictions

Despite the public nature of the ceremony, the family imposed strict restrictions on photography near the casket, citing the actress's drastically changed appearance due to her illness. Grigory Leps, a staunch supporter of the Putin regime, also paid his respects.

"Anastasia's illness changed her beyond recognition, " said a family spokesperson.

A Look Back at Her Controversial Legacy

Zavorotnyuk's role in the TV series "My Fair Nanny" was a source of offense for many Ukrainians, as her character often mocked Ukrainian culture and the city of Mariupol. Despite the controversy, she had a significant fanbase who came to pay their respects.

The Lasting Impact of Zavorotnyuk's Work

The ceremony was attended by many of her close friends and colleagues, including Ilya Averbukh, who has been vocal about his support for the war. The Union of Cinematographers of Russia and the Russian Television Academy sent memorial wreaths, as did other notable figures like Dmitry Nagiev and Andrey Malakhov.
