Timothée Chalamet gets a makeover: a new film about the ping pong legend
Timothée Chalamet, known for his roles in Dune and Call Me by Your Name, surprised fans again. This time, he plunged into the 70s to embody the image of the legendary ping pong champion in the new film of the studio A24.
Timothée Chalamet's new look in the style of the 70s
The American and French actor appeared on the streets in a 70s-style suit: wide flared pants and dark hair combed back. Almost unrecognizable in glasses and with a mustache, Chalamet was actively working on the filming of the film, which also stars Gwyneth Paltrow.
Story inspired by real events
The film, the script for which was written by Safdie and Ronald Bronstein, tells about the life of Richard Raisman - an iconic figure in American ping-pong. Raisman had numerous victories, including the 1958 and 1960 U.S. Championships, and a sensational victory at the 1997 U.S. Hard Bait Championship at the age of 67.
"His style of play and life was unique. He wore Borsalino felt hats and panamas, which adds even more color to our film, " said producer Anthony Katagas.
From historical drama to science fiction
Chalamet, who gained fame after his role in the romantic drama "Call Me by Your Name", continues to surprise with his choice of roles. After success in Greta Gerwig's Ladybug and Little Women, the actor rose to global fame thanks to his role in the sci-fi epic Dune.
What to expect next?
The new film promises to be another bright moment in Chalamet's career. Cooperation with studio A24, known for its bold projects, gives hope for another cinematic masterpiece. The actor, who is currently dating Kylie Jenner, continues to keep fans in suspense not only with his roles, but also with his personal life.
