All-out war not only changed the lives of millions, but also brought to light the potential that had long remained in the shadows.

The Ukrainian documentary film "20 days in Mariupol" won the Oscar 2024, which symbolizes a new era in the history of our cinema. This achievement not only confirms the high level of Ukrainian films, but also opens the door to international venues for our filmmakers.

Expansion of horizons

The popularity of Ukrainian films abroad is growing, and this is not just a coincidence. Such films as "La Palisade" and "The Porcelain War" have already appeared among the nominees for "Oscar 2025". This shows that Ukrainian cinema is becoming competitive.

"The military genre now needs to be promoted to the masses, because foreigners have forgotten that the war is still going on in Ukraine, " says director Alan Badoev.
