Among the fashion icons of the Ukrainian scene, Mika Newton certainly stands out for her unique path and difficult trials that laid the foundation for her career and personal life.

From a stellar start to a conflict with Falosa

Back in 2002, young Oksana Hrytsai, today known as Mika Newton, became a real sensation after winning the Black Sea Games festival. Her talent was noticed, and a contract with producer Yuriy Falosa seemed like the beginning of a big star road. However, their cooperation turned into scandals.

"I regret that there were times when we were told that being in Russia is cool, " the singer shared.

Eurovision and the American dream

In 2011, Mika Newton represented Ukraine at Eurovision with the song "Angel", taking 4th place. After the competition, she decided to develop her career in the USA. There, Mika not only found new professional opportunities, but also true love, marrying Chris Saavedra, the owner of a modeling agency.

Fighting oncology: miracles do happen

Being in America brought not only happy moments. In 2019, Mika learned about an oncological diagnosis. Doctors predicted serious trials, but the singer showed that faith and dreams can work miracles. After two operations, her condition improved significantly.

The future: new plans and hopes

Now Mika continues to work as a model and occasionally perform. It actively supports Ukraine, including participating in events to support the Armed Forces. Her dreams of motherhood remain unchanged, and even if she fails to give birth on her own, the singer is ready to adopt a child.
