On June 13 of this year, the bodies of the 46-year-old actor and his dog Hans were found in a car, which was the final chord in the star's life. Medical examiners from Arizona concluded that Benji's death was caused by heatstroke and the presence of serious health problems.

Heat stroke and liver cirrhosis

An autopsy showed that the actor's liver had a large number of scars caused by a long-term disease - cirrhosis of the liver. Also, the day of death was marked by an extremely high temperature, which could be fatal even for a healthy person. The combination of these two factors led to tragic consequences.

The actor's family is going through difficult times, remembering him as a cheerful and caring son, brother and uncle.

"My family lost too soon. Ben was a great son, brother and uncle. He was fun to be around and made us laugh quite often. Still, when I look through his things, I find myself laughing over his little videos or recordings, in between cries, " shared his sister, Rebecca Pfafffinger.

This is not the first difficult page in Benji's life. According to relatives, the actor suffered from depression, bipolar disorder and a sleep disorder, which made his life even more difficult. After ending his acting career, he even joined the US Navy, where he served for two years, trying to find a new meaning in life.
