18-year-old Ukrainian singer Yaroslav Rogalsky, known for his successful performance in the Ukrainian show "Holos.Dity 5", triumphantly conquered the stage of the popular Polish TV show The Voice Poland. However, along with the recognition, the violinist's talent encountered an unexpected flurry of negativity in social networks.

Triumph on the Polish stage

The young artist from the stage of The Voice Poland impressed all the jury members with his performance of the hit "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter. His performance touched the coaches so much that their chairs turned in the first seconds. Among the judges were such names as Michal Shpak, Kuba Badakh, the Tomson&Baron duo and the singer Lanberry. Rohalsky chose the latter as his mentor in the show.

Hate in social networks

Despite the admiration of the jury, a large part of the audience was indignant because of Yaroslav's Ukrainian origin. The project's social networks were flooded with hate comments with anti-Ukrainian statements. Many users urged Yaroslav to "return to Ukraine" and even mentioned historical events that took place more than 80 years ago.

"If Poles appear in 'Voices' around the world, it's normal, but if someone of a different nationality appears in 'Voice of Poland', should they be hated?" — this comment from one of the users reflects the true nature of the situation.

Support and prospects

Along with the negativity, Yaroslav gained considerable support. Many people point out that he was still a child when he left Ukraine in 2022 and was not eligible for military service. His defenders emphasize the need to evaluate talent, not nationality.

Rogalski continues to develop his musical career in Poland, studied the Polish language and entered the Academy of Journalism and Sound Engineering in Warsaw. Combining studies with music, he released his own track "Yalta", dedicated to the Ukrainian Crimea.
