Vitaliy Kozlovskyi Baptizes Newborn Son Oscar in Kyiv
Ukrainian singer Vitaliy Kozlovskyi, currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has baptized his newborn son, Oscar, in a touching ceremony held at the St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery in Kyiv. The singer and his wife, Yuliya Bakumenko, were seen wearing traditional white embroidered shirts.
A New Chapter in Kozlovskyi's Life
Kozlovskyi, who has often spoken about how fatherhood has changed his priorities, was visibly emotional during the ceremony. The couple has yet to reveal the names of the godparents, but a photo shared by Father Oleksandr Barychko on social media has given a glimpse into the intimate event.
"A new warrior of the Church of Christ. Finally got my Oscar, " wrote Father Barychko, holding the almost 3-month-old Oscar in his arms.
The Journey to Fatherhood
Kozlovskyi and Bakumenko tied the knot in a modest ceremony that took place the night after a massive Russian missile strike. The couple decided to marry when they learned about Bakumenko's pregnancy. Their son, Oscar, was born on February 25th this year, and Kozlovskyi has openly shared his joy and love for his firstborn.
A New Priority
Oscar's birth has profoundly impacted Kozlovskyi, who now rushes home to spend time with his son whenever possible. The singer has been candid about how long he and Bakumenko tried to become parents and the emotions he felt when he finally witnessed the birth of his son.
In reflecting on the baptism, Kozlovskyi emphasized the importance of family and faith, especially during these challenging times for Ukraine. The ceremony at St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery was not just a religious milestone but a moment of hope and resilience for the family.
